Emit managed to save a small amount of magic when he closed his book, locking himself behind the fourth door. He guessed this was just enough magic to allow a part of him to leave his resting place three times during the next five hundred eighty-eight years. Would there be enough time to complete his plan? Hoping there would be, he tried not to think of his secret key sketch hidden inside the dagger—a crucial part of the plan, a part he was sure the demon knew nothing about thanks to his magic book. Emit would guard the book with his life, until the end of time....
